Locks, Stocks and 2 Smoking Wands
With the cataclysm of the Joining, the end of the world seemed imminent. Debris fell from the heavens, storms wracked the world, and two worlds became one. By all logic, there is no way anyone would survive, and yet they did. A miracle one would say – and they would be right. It was the gods of Aerth that saved the world – but at a price. By the end of the times of the storms, though they fervently cried out to the gods, the races received no replies. For the heavens were emptied and no one was listening. So great and often were the miracles that were performed on the behalf of mortals during the Great Storm, that the powers of the gods were stripped away and they ceased to exist.
Now a thousand years later, the power of belief stirs again. Divine power now plays on a level field with Arcane power, and churches to many gods – some new and some old – sprout up wherever there is faith. Some gods exist as concepts only “Praise be to the God of the Protection”, while others have full names “By Moradin’s Beard!”
